A well
detailed model of the Campbeltown & Macrihanish Railways Atlantic, built in 1907
as a sister engine to Argyll. Although originally a coal carrying railway, the
developing tourist trade necessitated these larger locomotives which were built
by Andrew Barclay . The model follows all the latest Roundhouse practices such as it’s simplified Walschaerts valve gear controlling free running slide valves. In addition to the normal steam fittings, the loco also has a water level gauge and top up system fitted as standard. To allow access to the cab, which incidently has glazed windows, the roof lifts off. The driving wheels are sprung ensuring a smooth ride. Wheels are insulated as standard. |
