A 16mm scale model of the Welshpool
and Llanfair Earl or Countess, modelled as running at the present time on the
rural W&L Railway. Built in 1902 by Beyer Peacock and subsequently modified by the Great Western, this pair of locomotives perform well to this day, their attractive style being admired by passengers and modellers alike. As a model we have a lot of the matching rolling stock in either ready-to-run or kit format - a good reason to have a W&L train on your line. The model is internally gas fired and the boiler is fitted with a level gauge. The cylinders are supplied through slide valves, which are controlled with a simplified Walshaerts valve gear, Earl/Countess is well detailed and available in Great Western green or black. Nameplates for either loco are supplied for you to fit according to your choice. |
