An exiting engine from Doncaster, Millie is a small, simple locomotive.
It has the same sized cylinders (with slide valves) as the mainstream Roundhouse engines,
but they are controlled by an effective slip eccentric valve gear. The boiler is externally
fired by gas and is generously sized for a long run. For an even longer run, there is an
optional top up system and water gauge glass. The cab houses the gas regulator, steam
regulator and displacement lubricator. Styling is straightforward with large sidetanks
encompassing the firebox. The cab front sheet has brass spectacle rings and the top is
curled back slightly to offer no real weather protection to the crew! The gas tank
fills the bunker and at the front end the chimney is brass capped.
Being outside
wheeled, the gauge, either 32mm or 45mm has to be specified when ordering from us
here at Brandbright. Importantly, this simple engine has a low price tag! Bolt on option packs include: Full Cab Water Top up and Water Level Gauge Dome to fit over the safety valve Fittings for radio control (throttle only) Pressure Gauge Dummy Handbrake to replace gas control knob Slide bar and cross head set Slide bar, cross head, combination lever and union link set
