A superbly detailed model of the Festiniog Railway single Fairlie Taliesin. Built in 1876, this articulated locomotive was withdrawn from service in the late 1920’s and then dismantled, much going for scrap. However, in the late 1990’s the Festiniog ‘rebuilt’ the engine using some of the original parts.

The model is in the current (2007) form. Powered by the usual Roundhouse gas firing and with a simplified Walschaerts valve gear and valves between the frames operating the external cylinders.
Available for either 32mm or 45mm gauge track and in any of the Roundhouse colours, with a new Victorian maroon being introduced for Taliesin. Rechargeable batteries are included with the radio control, fitted as standard (2 channel radio) Dimensions TBC. Note that the pictures are of the prototype. Click the picture for a back view. |
