Dimensions: Length (Over buffers) 263mm Height 146mm Width 110mm

Inspired by - but not intended as scale model of - the prototype Kerr Stuart narrow gauge 60 horsepower diesel trialled on the Welsh Highland Railway in 1928. The model has four driven wheels and is a powerful addition to any railway.

The motor is supplied directly coupled to an enclosed planetary gearbox (no worm gears) and drives through toothed belts to the axles - rather like the Kerr Stuart chain drives - but tougher! The wheels are gauge adjustable for either 32 or 45mm gauges. The chassis is formed from substantial steel plate and houses the brass bearings. The crisply detailed bodywork is moulded resin and the bonnet has metal grab rails. Working directional lamps are also included. The cab houses the radiator which conceals the speaker when sound is fitted. The switch and charge socket are easy to get to, yet unobtrusive in the cab. The cab even has glazed front windows, a toolbox and wooden floor. Steel sprung buffers are included.

Supplied as a kit containing the body and chassis, or to order as made up ‘ready to go’ locomotives. The options are:

BX-KIT Body, lamps, couplings and chassis kit for Boxer locomotive (excludes electrics) £275
