Authentic wooden sleepered track for extra realism! With scale sized sleepering and components for narrow gauge and standard gauge (gauge 3), the timber being treated making the track systems suitable for both indoor and permanently outdoor layouts. The narrow gauge systems are available with a choice of sleeper depth - standard 6mm or the deeper 12mm for fully-ballasted track. The bullhead system uses pre-drilled sleepers, into which push rail fixing chairs, rail then sliding through the chairs. There is a choice of metal or plastic for the chairs and brass or nickel silver for the rail. With the usual flat bottomed track system, the sleepers are supplied with flat headed pins already inserted into place, the rail then sliding into place between the pins. Again there is a choice of brass or nickel silver for the rail. Alternatively, a rail fixing clip (for a more modern style of track) can be used, this then fitting to the drilled sleepers used with the bullhead system. This clipped style of track can be used with gauge 3 (standard gauge) using a larger rail section and the purpose sized sleepers. Whichever of these systems you use, you can curve the track to fit your garden. Should you wish install a 'tight' curve or 'float' the track in ballast, then it may be best to bend the rail prior to installation.
