| A
well
detailed model of the legendary B class. These locomotives have been
valiantly climbing the 50 mile long Darjeeling Himalayan Railway on a
daily basis for over a century. The 2 foot gauge railway climbs nearly
7000 feet and twists, even spiralling to achieve this. Although tea has
been the major commodity carried on the railway, it is still used as an
all purpose railway a school train is still run steam hauled of
course!
The model follows all the usual Roundhouse practices with its simplified Walschaerts valve gear controlling free running slide valves. In addition to the normal steam fittings, the B class also has a level gauge and sight glass fitted as standard. To allow access to the cab, the roof hinges to one side. The amount of detail included on this model is high and imitates the cluttered look of the real workhorse The model is gauge adjustable (32mm gauge is scale) and it is available either manually or radio controlled. Couplers are centre buffer, which can be removed if a prototypical drawbar is required. Colour choice Brunswick green, black, maroon or Darjeeling blue. |
