The
variety of narrow gauge engines both in Britain and around the world is
great - from diminutive Welsh quarry locomotives through to towering
American giants. Similarly, the Brandbright range encompasses many sizes and
styles of locomotive. The magic of running real live steam is difficult to
describe and is best experienced at first hand. All of our chosen locos are
easy to operate and range from the simplest, through to detail encrusted
masterpieces! Like their full size counterparts, live steam locomotives are
characters in their own right and getting to know your new engine from
Brandbright is like making a new good friend!
Live
steam power fits naturally into the outdoor environment of the garden, and
the charm of a narrow gauge steam train steadily progressing around the
flower beds and rockery, enhances the beauty of your garden. Garden
railwaying is often a family activity and although live steam locomotives
are not intended for use by children, they learn much from helping in the
activity.
We
lead the world in the international hobby of steam powered garden railways,
Brandbright provides REAL ENGINEering! Please ask for our advice on choosing
a loco for your requirements.

We manufacture the above ranges of rolling
stock and retail the ranges below.
One of
the many charms of the narrow gauge is that of the variety of rolling stock.
It is still possible to ride in tiny Victorian coaches and larger more
modern varieties. In fact many narrow gauge trains, both in olden and
preservation days had stock of all sizes. The range stocked by Brandbright
reflects this variety - from tipper trucks to large coaches - and even some
standard gauge to 'tranship' to!
Please note that except where otherwise stated, kits do not include wheels
or couplings and that the lengths quoted generally exclude the coupling
lengths. Kits can, with the appropriate wheels etc be built for 32 or 45mm
gauge unless stated to the contrary.

Brandbright supplies many variations of track systems. The basic options are
shown in the table below and then within these systems there are often
further options. The systems are described in turn and the separate rail,
joiners chairs etc are grouped into a section after all the system
descriptions.
