LINDA, CHARLES & BLANCHE 0-4-0 ST

The Penrhyn 'main line' engines were built by the Hunslet Engine Company; Charles in 1882 and the Ladies in 1893. Charles remains in Penrhyn Railway form, as a static display in Penrhyn castle, whereas Linda and Blanche have seen many years further service on the Festiniog Railway. Over these years, the locomotives have had numerous changes including oil firing and the addition of a leading pony truck. As the real engines all have detail differences, the models are being produced in the following formats:

Charles: In Penrhyn format with a full cab back sheet with characteristic square spectacles, tank mounted sandboxes, Roscoe lubricators and other pertinent detailing

Linda or Blanche: In Penrhyn format as Charles but with round spectacles and small sandboxes on tank front.

Linda: In early Festiniog form (1960's) i.e. with tender and open backed cab, still 0-4-0, re-profiled roof, twin (dummy) whistles, larger sandboxes, vacuum pipes and so on.
